According to an article from AFP, the recently released Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit is a big cycling fan. While he was in captivity in Gaza, he was able to watch sports on television says the Israeli ambassador to France.
Shalit especially liked cycling and in particular the Tour. He’s been invited to be a guest at the next Tour de France along with his family. The ambassador had visited the family during the years of captivity and they formed a bond. Shalit has French nationality through his paternal grandmother who emigrated from France in the 1950s.
