German cyclist Jorg Jaske has testified at the Operation Puerto trial. He says he wasn’t the only member of the Liberty Seguros team who was a client of Dr. Fuentes.
He said he couldn’t say for sure besides himself who was a client of Fuentes but he knows there were others. “During competitions, the blood transfusions were done in little circles. I remember Fuentes showed a map of the upcoming Tour de France, 2005 or 2006. On the map were little circles.” There was a menu of different services proposed by Fuentes, blood doping, growth hormones, anabolic steroids, EPO. The doctor’s price was 4000 euros per blood bag during the Tour.
There was a leading racer who wasn’t named. The collaboration from the Liberty Seguros Team was officially discontinued in 2005 but riders continued to see him.
Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso, a Spanish soccer player, denies any doping with Real Sociedad. He says he never saw any.
