After having admitted having doped during his cycling career from 1991-2003, Eric Zabel was suspended from his job as sprint trainer with the Katusha team. He had started working with the team in 2012. Katusha is a member of the MPCC (Movement for Credible Cycling) and has a strict policy against doping.
Zabel had worn the green sprint jersey in six Tours de France as well as spent some time in the yellow jersey.
