The electric mountain bikes will be able to compete in the exclusive event on snowy Passo Tonale
Less than a month left to the craziest cycling event of this winter. On Saturday, March 9th Val di Sole is the venue of the 7th edition of LA Winter Downhill, whose participants are ready to ride on Tonale Pass snow (“Valena” slope), boasting technique and balance and even a pinch of craziness, which make this cycling event so unique.
The 2019 edition has big news: by popular demand, the organizing committee has opted to welcome electric Mountain Bikes with a special category, so all eMTB enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy the Winter Downhill.
All participants – either by Mountain Bike or eMTB – will observe the following schedule: on Saturday, March 9th the registration takes place from 11.30 to 1.30 PM, followed by free track recon. From 3 to 4 PM the Eliminator comes on stage, with mass start: only the best riders out of the elimination race will access the real LA Winter DH, starting at 4.30 PM on the “Valena” slope.
Giant slalom gates will track the route on the white slope (1.000 mt length with 100 mt vertical drop) before athletes get into the snowpark, among humps and parabolic curves. The riders boasting the best balance will thrive at the 2019 LA Winter DH in both MTB and eMTB categories.
At the end of the race, the award ceremony will celebrate all the participants with music and “Apres-Bike” entertainment.
Plenty of fun and plenty of value, further enhanced by the race pack including a WD-40 product, a Pasta Felicetti pack, a Pejo Water bottle and a daily skipass for the Ponte di Legno-Tonale area: a unique occasion to enjoy a great weekend of sport and adrenaline.
What’s more – on Friday, March 8th in the late afternoon, the registered entrants to LA Winter Downhill will be able to join for free the MTB sunset downhill on the ski slopes (with cablecar lift) organized by Ponte Tonale Bike, with starting line from Malga Valbiolo and arrival in Ponte di Legno. This breathtaking downhill amounts to 10 km and takes place after expert guides then concludes at 7.30 PM, with happy hour in Ponte di Legno. This event is also open to both MTB and eMTB participants.
Subscriptions to LA Winter Downhill are open until March, 6th for € 35, while on March, 7th – the last registration day – the cost amounts to € 40.
