This was the final climb of today’s stage before the finish and a first in Tour history.
In just 3.4 kilometers there are 18 hairpins bends, with a 180° switchback every 150m on a narrow road that can just accomodate one lane of cars.
“You don’t ever stop turning,” Thierry Gouvenou, Tour course director, described it.
