Dylan Groenewegen (Team Jumbo-Visma) gave encore with Oltre XR4 at Paris-Nice on Monday, March 11th. The Dutch GC leader completed the stage 2, 163,5 km from Les Bréviaires to Bellegarde with a powerful sprint that forced his rivals to settle for podium’s lowest steps or a Top 10 display. Groenewegen closed in 3:14:04, ahead of Iván Garcia and Philippe Gilbert.
In a stage made harder by the crosswinds splitting the peloton, Groenewegen worked hard to stay out in the front group, managing to succeed thanks to the help of his teammates. The 25-year-old rider from Amsterdam achieved a good position in view of the sprint, re-affirming hismelf as one of the World’s fastest wheels.
Groenewegen now leads ahead of Michal Kwiatkowski (+0:12) in the GC, with Luis Leon Sanchez third (+ 0:13)
