Eddy Borysewicz died of complications of Covid-19 at age 81 in his home country of Poland.
Eddy coached the US Olympic cycling team from 1977-1987. He influenced the careers of Andy Hampsten, Greg LeMond, Rebecca Twigg, Lance Armstrong, and many other top American riders.
He was controversial for his encouragement of blood doping with the US cycling team at the 1984 Olympics. At that time it was not a banned procedure.
