Last weekend, thanks to Make-A-Wish® and the Lotto Cycling Team, 17-year-old Emiel from Roeselare saw his dream come true. He received an original Orbea Orca Aero from the team, handed over by sports director Nikolas Maes.
Emiel had always been a cyclist himself, but had to put that dream on hold due to a severe illness. Now that he is recovering and back on his bike, he hopes to become a professional cyclist one day. And as a superfan of the Lotto Cycling Team, he dreams of joining our team in particular.
On Saturday afternoon, Emiel was picked up by sports director Nikolas Maes in the team car for a major surprise. Not only did he experience the ride of his life, but he was also welcomed at Cyclobility in Roeselare by the Make-A-Wish® team, who handed him the most wonderful gift. Emiel’s heartfelt wish was to receive an Orbea bike. When it turned out to be the original Orbea Orca Aero from Lotto, the surprise was complete. After receiving a few tips and tricks from the sports director, Emiel set off home, extremely happy with his new bike.
About Make-A-Wish® Belgium-Flanders:
Make-A-Wish® believes in the healing power of wishes. That’s why the organization fulfills the heartfelt wishes of children between the ages of 3 and 18 with a life-threatening medical condition, giving them the strength to continue their fight against the disease. Because if a child can believe their wish will come true, they can also believe they will get better.
Emiel’s heartfelt wish came true thanks to Make-A-Wish®, Lotto Cycling Team, Orbea, the National Lottery, Cyclobility, and GroepK.
