Mavic’s 2018 road range sees the addition of numerous new products, most notably the Road UST wheel and tire system that brings simplicity and increased safety to road tubeless. Updates to apparel lines include new women’s options, plus a selection of outerwear and accessories. Below is a sampling of what will be available in Mavic’s U.S. line.
Road UST solves the biggest challenges around road tubeless thanks to exacting detail in the production process that ensures a tool-free tire installation and easy inflation.
● Brand new to Mavic’s wheel line is the Comete Pro Carbon SL UST, its most aerodynamic offering. With a 64mm deep profile it’s an ideal option for time trialists, road racers wanting the fastest wheel possible, and triathletes. $1,799.90.
● The Cosmic Pro Carbon SL UST is the do-it-all carbon wheelset that excels on any terrain. At just 1450 grams (rim brake) for the pair, and a reduction in rolling resistance thanks to UST, it’s the every-day high performance wheelset. Women’s apparel adds a number of key pieces in the Sequence line with the new Twist Tank and Pro Bib Short that ups the performance level.
● Using a high-wicking, soft fabric, the Sequence Jersey Graphic hits the mark in comfort and style. With Hot Ride UV and a ½ zip front zipper, it’s an ideal summer piece. Available in two colors. $99.95.
● The highly requested Sequence Pro Bib Short is one of the additions for ’18 and uses a 3D Women’s insert for progressive cushioning, in addition to a bathroom break zipper. It features a Pro Fit and uses Italian fabrics for optimal muscle support. $179.95.
● When the weather doesn’t require a full jersey, the Sequence Twist Tank offers a unique styling designed around heat and sweat management. It uses a Pro Fit while allowing for a full three pockets in the rear. Available in three colors. $69.95.
The Essential line is added to men’s apparel while Cosmic Ultimate SL brings top-tier performance to any ride.
● Using the 3D Ergo Endurance insert, the Essential Bib Short places a priority on comfort by using two different density foams to deliver support and moisture management. Since the perfect fit is key to comfort, a new Ergo grip SL elastic construction is used on the thighs to provide adequate grip. Available in three colors. $119.95.
● The Essential Wind Vest gives protection from the elements in a lightweight, easily stowable design. Dura Wind SL delivers wind protection while Durable Water Repellent Treatment repels light rain.
