Villingen-Schwenningen, Saturday, August 24th 2024
Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) has struck again at the Lidl Deutschland Tour 2024. After two victories at the start, the Italian has now also secured stage 3. The 211.1-kilometre between Schwäbisch Gmünd and Villingen-Schwenningen had the character of a royal stage. Milan send Max Kanter (Astana Qazaqstan Team) and Jordi Meeus (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe) to second and third place in the bunch sprint. The sprint was led by his team-mate Mads Pedersen in the blue jersey, who defended his lead in the overall standings ahead of Tobias Halland Johannessen (Uno-X Mobility) and Danny van Poppel (Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe) who stepped up by securing the bonification sprint. Milan, on the other hand, defended the best sprinter’s jersey. Jørgen Nordhagen (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) is new to the mountains jersey. Johannessen remains the best young pro.
