The Swiss biker confirmed the overall leadership winning the final stage
2015 Mountain-Bike season started in the best way for Northwave’s athletes. After two stage wins claimed by XC European Champion Tanja Zakelj at Andalusia Bike Race, on Sunday March 1st Swiss Florian Vogel (Focus XC MTB Team) conquered the overall success in Cyprus Sunshine Cup, one of the most important MTB stage races.
In the overall, Vogel preceded another Northwave’s biker, Cannondale-Factory’s Henrique Avancini (+0:37), whilst BH-SR Sontour’s Stephane Tempier (+1:20) completed the final podium. The Swiss biker also claimed two stage wins: the opening prologue and stage4 preceding Avancini and Tempier.
Vogel’s compatriot, Kathrin Stirnemann (Haibike Oetztal) finished third in Women race’s last stage behind winner Annika Langvald (Specialized Racing) and Margot Moschetti (Betch NL Superior), and ahead of Northwave’s veteran Gunn-Rita Dahle (Norway National Team). The XCE World Champion placed fourth in the overall behind Langvald, Moschetti and Jolanda Neff (Stockli Pro Team).
