According to a recent article in the Denver Post, Colorado Governor Hickenlooper is still pretty excited about this summer’s Pro Cycling Challenge.
He made the analogy that bike race winning strategies can apply elsewhere. He wants smart collaboration for economic development. He’s hoping to extend the race to the eastern plains of Colorado, where the average person on a bike could ride a lot easier. It’s already in the planning stages for sometime early next year.
“How cool would it be to bring the bike enthusiam we saw during the USA Pro Challenge to this part of Colorado? There are great vistas, fewer hills to get over for novice bikers like me, and some of the most hospitable people in America,” he wrote.
Republican Legislator Greg Brophy from Wray, CO is an avid cyclist. He thinks he’s going to smoke Hickenlooper in the race.
