Second seasonal success for veteran Rebellin.
CCC Sprandi’s Davide Rebellin clinched victory at 69th Coppa Agostoni, Italian semi-classic held on Wednesday September 16th in Lissone. The Italian rider, equipped by Northwave with Extreme Tech Plus shoes, Speedster helmet and Steel sunglasses, preceded Vincenzo Nibali (Astana).
The Venetian rider moved on the attack with Nibali and Michele Scarponi (Astana) on Lissolo’s hill. A few kilometers from the finish line, Nibali and Rebellin outdistanced Scarponi and had the chance to contest the victory in a final head-to-head, making the peloton’s recovery useless, with Bonifazio eventually taking the third spot.
Three more Northwave’s athletes entered the day’s top 10: Italian Andrea Pasqualon (Roth Skoda) claimed the sixth place, while Polish Maciej Paterski (CCC-Sprandi) finished eighth ahead of Italian Enrico Gasparotto (Wanty – Groupe Gobert).
