The Team Jumbo-Visma Slovenian strengthened his overall leadership at the Vuelta a España.
Team Jumbo-Visma’s Primoz Roglic finished second in Vuelta a España stage 13, 166,4 Km from Bilbao to Los Machucos (Spain), on Friday September 6th.
He extended his overall leadership, gaining on his rivals on the steep ramps to Los Machucos. Roglic crossed the finish line behind fellow Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, while Frenchman Pierre Latour completed the day’s podium.
The 29-year-old born in Trbovlje leads the overall standings with 2’25” on Spain’s Alejandro Valverde and 3’01” on Pogacar.
Thanks to his fifth podium – first in Pau’s time trial, second in Mas de la Costa and Los Machucos and third in Calpe and Cortals d’Encamp – Roglic leads the Points Classification with 109 point, ahead of Pogacar (86) and Colombian Nairo Quintana (82).
