Team Jumbo-Visma’s Primoz Roglic goes on sending impressive messages to his Giro d’Italia’s rivals. Winner of the Tour de Romandie’s opening stage, the GC leader gave encore with Oltre XR4 in the stage 4, 107,6 km from Lucens to Torgon uphill finish, on Saturday, May 4th. Taking advantage from the strong performance of teammate Steven Kruijswijk, displaying once again an excellent shape, Roglic attacked on the final slopes before outsprinting rivals Rui Costa and Geraint Thomas.
The Slovenian now tops the GC in 15:05:13, with a 12-second advantage on Rui Costa and 16 seconds on David Gaudu. Roglic also lead the Swiss World Tour stage-race’s Points Classification (125), ahead of Gaudu and Costa, and now aims to properly complete his great job in Geneve’s final ITT on Sunday, May 5th.
Part of the leading group, Kruijswijk finished 9th, going up to 6th in the GC, with a 37-second gap.
