Sagan took his first Tour de France win on Stage 1 against Cancellara and Boassen Hagen in Seraing. The three of them went out on the last hill in the last kilometer. He’s only 22 years old and is the youngest stage winner since Lance Armstrong’s first win in Verdun in 1993.
Leipheimer finished with the second group and lost 17 seconds. Horner and Froome finished along with teammate Wiggins. Vinokourov flatted on the last kilometer and lost 3.41 minutes. There were two crashes near the finish. Luis Leon Sanchez hurt his wrist. But everyone finished the stage.
