Stage 20: Cerilly – Saint Amand Montrond

It was a really long day today and the course was pretty flat and backlit. Stefan Schumacher won the stage, with Cancellara coming in second and Kirchen finishing third.

Carlos Sastre finished in 12th place which was enough to keep the yellow jersey into Paris tomorrow.  Cadel Evans made up enough

time to snag second place, and third place will be Bernard Kohl.  Christian Vandevelde made up a minute and a half but he’s in fifth

place, so no Americans will be on the podium this year.  It’s been a long time since we haven’t had a spot there for anything.

Tonight is a long drive back to Paris, though not quite as bad as it sometimes is after this last time trial.
