Guilin 24th October – Team Bahrain-Merida finished the season with an impressive performance. Bonifazio challenged Fernando Gaviria(Quickstep) and took the second place in the bunch sprint, while our local star Mei-Yin won himself another most active rider with a 160 breakaway ride.
From Bonifazio, our spriner of the day: “Fernando is really fast. He won his fourth stage of the race. I tried to follow him in the last km, but today the stage was undulating and to tell the truth I was a little tired, but I succeeded to stay on his wheel and in the sprint I gave it all. Gaviria shows again that he is really strong and it is pretty difficult to beat him.”
From Mei-Yin, the most active rider: “I worked hard from the very first day in the breakaway, and gave my best to get the goal set by the team. I really appreciate the team let me try in the breakaway without pressure. Thanks for my team and sports director. As a Chinese, I am proud to be part of the first edition Tour of Guangxi.”
