Team Sky, Floyd Landis again, Radio Shack

Team Sky has decided to quit the Vuelta d’Espagna after the death of team masseur on Friday.  Txema Gonzalez, age 43, died from septic shock and a bacterial infection at a hospital in Seville.  Cyclists on the team are not believed to be affected but the team is awaiting the results of blood tests on riders to be sure.  A few have come down with unrelated infections.

Floyd Landis has filed a whistle blower lawsuit under the False Claims Act which allows people to sue on behalf of the US government.  If the government takes up the lawsuit, Landis could get 30% of the take.  A spokesman for Lance Armstrong has said “What remains a mystery is why the government would devote a penny of the taxpayer’s money to help Floyd Landis.  This news that Floyd Landis is in this for the money confirms everything we all knew about Landis.”   The suit is sealed so details are not available.

Team Radio Shack has signed Manuel Antonio Cardoso of Portugal, Jesse Sergent of New Zealand, and Michael Kwiatkowski of Poland.
