Nongla 22nd October – The fourth day of Tour of Guangxi is the first decisive stage for the GC, especially the last 3km to the mountain top finish. A bunch of riders took the lead and had a great fight on their way to Nongla Scenic Area, and Grega Bole was one of them. He finished 12th for Team Bahrain-Merida. Unfortunately, we have 3 riders inside the crash 4km to go, including Mei-Yin, Jani, and Sonny.
From Bole, our best performance rider: “I felt good today, and then we have some unlucky crash with Jani Brajkovic, I hope that he will be okay. About the race, we worked like a team. I took the climb in the front, and I followed the first riders in the climb.1.5 km before the finish, the climb became flat, so riders attacked. I didn’t followed this attack because I didn’t believe me, so I lost some position there. I thought that I feel good legs. Maybe I lost the chance for better position.”
“Bad luck today, it was a big crash with 3 our guys inside, Mei-Yin, Jani, and Sonny. And Jani had a really bad crash. It’s disappointed, and I am really disappointed for Jani, because he was feeling good, and he was well-prepared for this race. It’s a pity for him, and also for Sonny, because Sonny could pass that climb in a good condition,” commented Philippe Mauduit, our sports director.
