Lela Rose does not wear all black. The NYC based designer is always seen in full color, bold and bright and welcoming.
As a fashion designer, I am always focused on style and presentation and I find that athletic wear is often overlooked as a category needing style. This was a perfect opportunity to inject a more feminine look into a category that has traditionally taken it’s style cues from men’s cycling. I wanted the print to be feminine but work on a dark background so that it didn’t feel too much of a departure. I included citrine, a signature color.
The Zinnia Collection captures Lela’s sensibility in a bright take on technically driven design. Based on the Signature Bib Short and our light weight pattenered jerseys, the Zinnia Collection is offered as a full kit and a Wind Vest in Lela’s highly visible citrine.

Lela Rose is a NYC-based fashion designer known for collections that are bright, versatile and comfortable. Using the Signature Kit as a canvas for design, Lela created the Zinnia Collection, a limited collaboration marrying function and form.
I bike around New York City as a way of getting everywhere I need to go. I find that I see so many inspirational things whenever I am out – new & old architecture, cool stores, food vendors, and interesting people. This city is such a cultural melting pot, and I find it always has so much to offer in terms of being constantly stimulated and inspired.
Inspired by Lela’s sense of color, her use of design to empower and embolden, the Zinnia Collection marries the beauty of technical cycling clothing with a fresh look.
The Zinnia Collection includes a jersey and bib short, sold as a kit, as well as the Zinnia Wind Vest; a high fashion, high viz layer in a citrine colored pattern based on the Velocio Wind Vest.
The Zinnia Jersey is made from our ultralight, highly technical fabric providing excellent stretch and breathability for an amazing riding performance.
The Zinnia Bib Short is based in design from the Signature Bib Short. Made from Italian Lycra fabric for exceptional feel, durability and comfort.
The Zinnia Bib Short’s front panel is made from a sheer stretch mesh that acts to stabilize the braces (straps). Supportive and light-feeling, these are bibs designed from the ground up to meet the highest standards of fit and performance, employing a custom, top-of-the-line Elastic Interface Technology (EIT) chamois by Cytech.
