[Waterloo, WI] – Trek Factory Racing unveiled the full roster this week for the Trek-Segafredo women’s team, which will be directed by former professionals Ina-Yoko Teutenberg and Giorgia Bronzini.
The 13 riders from 10 nations are united by a passion for racing, and expectations are high for the season ahead. The Trek-Segafredo women’s team will make its racing debut on January 10 as the 2019 Santos Tour Down Under kicks off in Adelaide.
“We are all very excited about the start of the 2019 season,” said Ina-Yoko Teutenberg. “We will be racing with a solid group of riders who are sure to bring plenty of action. We certainly hope to go home with at least one win in the bag.”
Melbourne native Lauretta Hanson, who won the Tour de Feminin time trial last year, will make her debut with Trek-Segafredo on home soil.
“It’s really special for me to start my season in Australia,” said Hanson. “I’ve always enjoyed the racing and atmosphere that surrounds Tour Down Under, and it’s made even better as the first race with my Trek-Segafredo teammates.”
She’ll be joined at Santos Tour Down Under by Finnish sprinter Lotta Lepistö, Italians Elisa Longo Borghini and Letizia Paternoster, and Americans Tayler Wiles and Ruth Winder.
The team will race Tour Down Under on Madone SLR in an all-new signature Trek-Segafredo paint scheme, and will be outfitted in Bontrager XXX shoes and helmets.
The new Trek-Segafredo paint scheme will be available this week on select stock road and custom Project One models.
