First races to kick-off the Arabic calendar

UAE Team Emirates will begin a block of racing in the Middle-East in their highly anticipated build-up to the UAE Tour, starting with the Saudi Tour [2.1] from 01- 05 February followed by the Tour of Oman (2.Pro) from 10-15 February.
The team will be led by Rui Costa who tasted victory at the Saudi Tour at the inaugural edition in 2020 when he won the opening stage and wore the leaders jersey. Meanwhile, Fernando Gaviria will lead the line in the sprint stages with a strong lead-out team behind him.
The teams for both races will be guided by the Sports Director duo of Fabio Baldato (Ita) and Marco Marcato (Ita).
Rui Costa : “We expect a top quality field here in Saudi Arabia and in Oman. My last win was in the Saudi Tour in 2020 and some of my best results in recent years have come on the roads here in the middle east so I want to continue that. I’ve been training at altitude for the past weeks in Sierra Nevada, Spain and my condition is quite good. I’m very excited to start my season.”
