Bianchi and Team Vacansoleil-DCM will unveil a special “celeste” jersey dedicated to Fausto Coppi at Officina Edoardo Bianchi, Italian company’s exclusive store opened last April in Bergamo (Largo Belotti, 4), on Thursday, September 27th (6 pm). Dutch team’s rider Bjorn Leukemans and probably Felice Gimondi will take part in the presentation.
Vacansoleil-DCM riders will wear the new celeste jersey on the occasion of “Il Lombardia” on September 29th, to honor the Campionissimo’s five wins in the Italian classic race and celebrate the 70th birthday of Felice Gimondi. In 2012 Bianchi paid homage to the 60th anniversary of Fausto Coppi’s double victory at Giro d’Italia and Tour de France, launching an Oltre special edition.
Offering a shirt at Our Lady of Ghisallo’s sanctuary and a special photo shoot are scheduled on Friday, September 28th. On Saturday September 29th, at Giro di Lombardia starting area, Bianchi CEO Bob Ippolito, Vacansoleil-DCM’s Daan Luijkx and Felice Gimondi will give a celebrative shirt to Michele Acquarone and Mauro Vegni, chief executive and manager of Rcs respectively, Il Lombardia’s organizer.
