Contador won the first Tour of Jerusalem race on Tuesday. The race was in the old city, near the Western Wall. It consisted of 10 2.8km laps and included around 100 cyclists from various cycling clubs in Israel.
And Vinokourov is battling accusations that he’s bribed his way into his Liege-Bastone-Liege win in 2010. He’s suing the magazine l’Illustre for slander.
He says it’s odd that all this has come up days after he’s announced his candidacy for political office in his country.
