Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) won the 3rd stage of the Deutschland Tour up to the Schauinsland. The Briton was over 148.9 kilometres from Freiburg to the mountain finish with 19 seconds ahead of Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious) and thus also took over the red jersey of the overall leader. Mauri Vansevenant (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team) came in third place, 28 seconds behind winner Yates.
Jakob Geßner, who again made it into the six-man group of the day, was able to defend his blue mountain jersey. Alexander Kristoff will continue to ride in the green jersey of the points leader. The new leader in the young rider’s classification is today’s third Vansevenant.
